I photographed my first boxing event for the United Kingdom Boxing Union in 2013 and it sparked a passion for boxing photography. It's been wonderful to document their boxing shows from small, local venues to the iconic York Hall and Indigo at The O2. I enjoy the challenges that come with this form of of fast action and often low light photography. I continue to be inspired by it and try to capture the emotions, the passion and heart of the boxers and their teams as well as those crucial action shots.
"Emma has taken our boxing events to the next level, capturing all the moments with her outstanding photographs...just superb."
Walid Ali, UKBU and Super Series Boxing Promoter.
Whether it's a promo shot or a corporate headshot, my aim is to try and capture a piece of a person's spirit in my portrait images. My experience lies in location-based reportage style portraits.
"Animated, engaged and sensitive to clients’ requirements, Emma brings a light touch, unobtrusive, friendly manner and personal passion for music and the arts to capture spontaneity in all her subjects, whether portraits or group shots. In a gallery, concert, party, street or retail setting, she picks up the vibe and effortlessly delivers photos that capture the essential mood and verve of each event. Highly recommended."
Norma Cohen, Actor/Writer, Director Vital Sparks.
It's always enjoyable working with different companies and organisations, whether it's to capture their annual conference, awards ceremony or some reportage photography around the office.
"Emma has been taking photos for the IRM for three years and I’d happily recommend her to anyone wanting a professional yet friendly photographer that’s easy to work with. When she is taking photos you don’t even notice she is there but somehow she always gets the right shots."
Georgia Mills, Events Manager, The Institute of Risk Management.
The energy and excitement that comes with a live music gig is electrifying. I have photographed many gigs as a member of the audience so I've been fully immersed in it (and sometimes have a few bruises to show for it!) I've been lucky enough to photograph one of my favourite bands, The Others, and in 2013, I joined them for a few days on part of their UK tour.
"Your latest set of music photos made me feel like I was at a gig."
Michael Murphy, Musician and Friend.
I usually photograph one or two small weddings per year so it's always a treat to be part of the celebrations for the day. I meet the bride and groom-to-be at least twice before their wedding day so it feels like we are friends on the day, which means more relaxed and natural photos.
"The photos really are absolutely wonderful, we just love them. You did such a great job in capturing all the moments we could have hoped for, both big and small, during the day. We quite literally couldn’t be happier with them."
James & Natalie Chambers, October 2016.
I try to be as discreet as possible when working on reportage projetcs, whether it's behind the scenes of a film, a tv show or a poetry reading. Being unobtrusive helps me record those beautiful split-second moments in time.
"Hi Emma, just now back home..what a week..we had very tough days. Amazing photos, we loved them!"
Andrei Koscina, Director, 'Taciturn' Short Film.
I frequently work with tech companies, documenting technology events and training days and I've worked as Content Producer for Techmix, photographing content for their website and magazine. I often find myself working with young people who are looking to break into the tech industry and am always blown away by their ideas and talent.
"Thank you for once again documenting our 'Sauce' event with your awesome photos!"
Amy Knight, Head of Marketing, Animade.
